What is your favorite creative use for the versatile Mason jar?

  • I love mason jars! Our kids use the 8oz ones as cups. They are a lot less likely to break when they are dropped 🙂 But ours are also used for a lot of home canned goodness…and then typically stolen to catch and observe bugs by my daughter!

  • LOL – love this. We use canning jars for everything as well. Leftovers don’t get shoved in the fridge & forgotten if they’re stored in glass jars. We throw away precious little food now since implementing this one change alone. I also like to serve our desserts out of vintage wide-mouth jelly jars – so cute! • They are the perfect storage container! I use 1/2 gallon size to store beans, rice oatmeal, nuts, marshmallows, well just about anything that you want to keep fresh. They last forever and are safe. I don’t microwave mine because I’ve heard it changes the integrity of the glass. It wouldn’t be safe for canning but certainly would be ok to store anything else in. Just what I read, can’t remember where.
